John Masters Honey & Hibiscus Hair Reconstructor – Winner! Best Hair Treatment in Biteable Beauty Best of 2012-13

Writing up this review has transported me back to Barbados! This was my hero hair product on the holiday, helping keep my hair in good shape in spite of the sun, sea and sand! The product offers intensive hydrating and reconstructive properties, thanks to a combination of 18 organic plant extracts and oils to reinvigorate hair and improve scalp health.

Both Honey and Hibiscus are great moisturisers and honey acts as a humectant, keeping water in the hair.

Linolenic and Hyaluronic Acid also feature, and these are acids are abundant in young hair, but their presence decreases with age. Soy Protein helps to strengthen hair follicles whilst Wheat Amino Acids help with shine and detangling. For those with a sensitive scalp, Cupuacu Butter helps with dryness including eczema and psoriasis conditions. Silver Linden Bud Extract helps hair retain moisture whilst also protecting against environmental damage. Finally, Sea Kelp Extract helps to soften, smooth and add a natural shine to the hair.

This product was a godsend on holiday and I used it religiously every day.

In the morning I would wet my hair before leaving for the beach or the pool, before applying this product and combing through. I then would plait my hair to keep it out of the way for the day. At the end of the day, before stepping out for dinner, I would shower and rinse the product away before shampooing and conditioning normally. It’s quite rare for me to blow dry my hair anyway, but when on holiday I almost always go for wavy dos on the account that it’s easy and suits my hair type!
