I am a massive fan of argan oil. It is a wonderfully versatile oil and can be used all over on hair, body and face. Whilst out and about for the day in Greenwich, I got talking to Sadie Houston, who has a stall in Greenwich selling argan oil amongst other things. I mentioned that I was launching Biteable Beauty very soon and before I knew it I was whisked off for a Moroccan foot spa treatment. It turned out Sadie had that day started to offer this treatment on her stand and was looking to test it out in that environment. She has worked in the beauty business for over fifteen years and currently offers Moroccan Spa parties in the home but wanted feedback on the set up and experience in the market, to which I gladly obliged.
Sadie began work on my feet with a foot file for a dry exfoliation. On previous pedicures I have been shocked at the amount of dead skin this process removes from my feet, however this time there was not as much, I put this down to fairly frequent use recently of a pumice stone. Next, Sadie applies rhassoul clay and wraps the feet in hot towels. This gently removes dead skin whilst smoothing and nourishing dry skin through re-mineralisation. After about ten minutes, the clay was removed with the towels to reveal my glowing feet that felt super smooth. Like argan oil, the clay can be used all over and Sadie uses the clay and argan oil every day. I didn’t ask how old she was, but I am confident that she looks way younger than her years (she has a teenage son and I would not have thought her old enough!) As well as restoring a glow to dull or dry skin, the clay balances oil levels in the skin and helps control breakouts at any age.
To finish off the treatment, my feet were smothered and massaged with my beloved argan oil. Sadie uses only the purest quality available which makes it the perfect healing agent for the face, body, skin, hair and nails. Once absorbed into my feet (and argan oil is easily absorbed), my feet felt even softer and smoother! I would have settled for how they felt post clay stage!
The whole experience was very indulgent, pampering and really relaxed me. I almost didn’t go out to Greenwich but made myself take a break from work, and I must say I’m so glad I did. This treatment comes highly recommended and I will definitely be returning to treat my feet, this is perfect pre-holiday preparation.
Moroccan foot spa experience is currently available in Greenwich Market Wednesday and Friday 10-5, launching soon on Saturday and Sunday. Pamper parties and local home visits are also available.
