I am a very recent convert to facial oils having started with the lovely Spa Fabulous Bliss for your Skin, then Antipodes Joyous Night Replenishing Serum (read my review here) and now the Natural Wisdom Rosehip and Pomegranate Antioxidant Treatment Oil.

This oil uses raw, cold pressed untreated/undeodorised/unbleached oils which means they remain in their purest, most natural form. The blend of rosehip, pomegranate and raspberry seed oil contains lots of antioxidants, vitamins, phytonutrients and essential fatty acids that not only help repair damage caused by environmental factors such as sun, cold, wind and pollution but it also protects against UV-A and UV-B protection thanks to the red raspberry seed oil, which has a natural SPF of over 28. CO2 extractions of rosemary, calendula, chamomile, sea buckthorn, carrot and amaranth are also combined to create an extra potent blend. Essential oils of sweet orange, juniper and frankincense complete the product. Other benefits of this product include promotion of healthy cell regeneration and renewal, improved skin tone and balancing of oils within the skin. Do not think that a facial oil is not an option for an oily complexion! You do have to make sure the oils are suitable for your skin type but there are plenty of pure oils as well as blended products that will work wonders on oily skin. To me, the aromas of raspberry seed, juniper and frankincense definitely come through along with a bitter (cocoa) edge and overall I think of some kind of dark chocolate and raspberry dessert when I smell it. The oil is quite dark in colour compared to most facial oils, but this did not put me off and I found the product absorbed really easily into my skin. A little does go a long way and I have been using this product for near on 3 months at least once a day! My skin has a tendency to be quite dry in the winter and whilst I would usually be using a rich moisturiser to avoid any dry patches I found this oil to be sufficient for my winter skincare regime. My skin looks great and I’ve been less prone to spots under my chin around my time of the month (although this might be related to the removal of my evil Implanon!). Having revisited the information on the product I didn’t realise I could use this oil around my eyes and I would definitely be interested in trying this product on my eye area – I may well add to this post my findings around my eye area at a later date!

I would say this product is suitable for every skin type and on the Essential Wisdom website it is outlined as being suitable for even the most sensitive of skins. Sun damaged skin will definitely benefit, as will more mature skin. The product is made with 98.6% organic ingredients with the only ingredient not listed as organic being natural Vitamin E. The Natural Wisdom website has much more information about all their products and the testimonials posted on the site show that it’s not just me who’s been impressed by these products.
