Breast Cancer Awareness Month – Jane Iredale Cosmetics
Iredale Mineral Cosmetics was founded by Jane Iredale, a mineral-based makeup company which prides itself on not only producing cosmetics that are not just safe but actually cosmeceutical. They are non-comedogenic, each product is sensitivity tested and there is virtually no allergy risk. Unlike most mainstream brands, Iredale does not contain any talc or parabens. You may be wondering why talc is bad for you, after all, it is used on babies, right? Well, talc in its natural form may have asbestos in it however all talcs used in commercial products have been asbestos-free since the 70s. Talc is linked to respiratory problems if products containing it are used regularly over long periods of time. Talc is also very drying to the skin, after all, if you think of the use of talcum powder this is the very nature of the beast! Parabens have been linked to cancer after British researchers found them in cancerous breast tissue.
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), Iredale Mineral Cosmetics brought out a cute lip duo, called Roses and Lollipops. 100% of all profits from this line are donated to the charity Living Beyond Breast Cancer, which empowers all women to live their lives as fully and as long as possible as well as with the best quality of life. The keychain packaging has a locket which contains a mirror along with two different lip shades.
Firstly, Roses PureMoist™ Lip Colour which is a pigment-rich, creamy lipstick with jojoba and grape seed extract to hydrate and smooth even dry lips. This is a lovely au naturel shade that gives the lips a beautiful healthy glow, you’ll be the only one who knows you are wearing it! The product is light on the lips once on and has good staying power. Secondly, Lollipops PureGloss™ for Lips is a shimmering pink gloss made without petroleum and with green tea leaf extract to protect against free radicals.
