Beyond Organic Skincare – Tinted SPF 30 Protection
I am a MASSIVE Beyond Organic fan, it’s definitely one of my favourite brands simply because I’m yet to have a mediocre experience with any of their products – they’ve all blown me away! So I was very excited to try their Tinted Moisturiser which also happens to have SPF30 protection. Now, I have a confession to make: I am not a massive user of sun protection products, in fact, all I use is Coconut Oil occasionally adding Red Raspberry Seed Oil if I know I’m going to be out in that midday sun for a long time! In my (very limited) experience of mineral sunscreens (ie those that use minerals such as Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide and Iron Oxides) I have found them to be heavy and very white in colour so was intrigued to see how this moisturiser was in thickness as well as colour. The moisturiser is lighter than foundation although when you first squeeze it out of the tube it looks like it is going to create a really thick layer over the skin. Thankfully this is not so and a tiny amount of this product will cover your face and neck. The first couple of applications I ejected about double the amount of product that was required to cover my face. Colour-wise, the product has pinkish tones which on first application may not look suitable to your skin tone (I thought they were too pink for me) but as the product leaves only a thin layer the colour evens out leaving a lovely sun-kissed glow.
You may be wondering how the presence of these molecules protects the skin from the sun’s rays. Well wonder no more, I will tell you! The molecules are big which means they will not be absorbed by the skin but instead sit on top of the skin where they reflect and scatter both UVA and UVB rays thus diverting them away from the skin. As well as protecting the skin in this manner, the product also contains loads of skin nourishing antioxidant-rich ingredients, such as fatty acids derived from coconut, Damascus Rose, Macadamia Nut, Shea Butter, Rosehip Oil, Beeswax and Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil along with some emulsifiers derived from Olive Oils which facilitate the retention of skin moisture and increase the active ingredient’s resistance to water and sweat.
