Try Me Beautiful : Argania Moroccan Hair Oil
When I read the front of this sachet – “hair treatment made with certified organic Moroccan argan oil” I was really excited to try the contents. “Discover instant silk smoothness and shine with ust a few drops, antioxidant-rich with naturally based ingredients.” Whilst this is true for the bottom half of the ingredients list, I was disappointed at the inclusion of silicone ingredients for two of the top three ingredients – Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol and Cyclotetrasiloxane are the top three ingredients. The reason silicones are used in products such as these is to coat the hair in a layer of plastic so it appears smoother and shinier. They have no positive benefits on hair’s health.
On the plus side, there are some beautiful oils contained in this formula – Sweet Almond, Carrot, Almond, Argan, Jojoba, Macadamia, Apricot, Vitamin E and Evening Primrose. To me, it seems such a shame to add silicones to such an array of ingredients which help improve the condition of hair. Argan is great for protecting and adding shine to hair, whilst Jojoba actually penetrates the hair shaft as its protein structure is very similar to that of the hair. It fills in the gaps of damaged hair helping repair and strengthen.
So, whilst I did see a difference in my hair I would rather see a pure version of this product minus the plastic-coating ingredients.
