Ecosoapia have been around for some 6 years now but this Eucalyptus Liquid Soap is the first scent I have tried by them. I have to say that Eucalyptus would not usually be the first fragrance I would plump for out of the range they have on offer, although I also loved Eucalyptus in the Maison d’Anu Foot Soak, but I absolutely loved this soap! The fragrance is wonderfully invigorating, a really green scent. The product itself is quite thick and produces a lovely enveloping lather when you wash – every millimetre of your skin feels covered. I found this soap really cleared and focused the mind after showering with it in the morning. Handily packaged in a pump dispenser with an attractive bubbly design on the front that looks pretty by the basin.
Did you know? There are over 700 species of Eucalyptus, most of them native to Australia, 15 found outside of Australia and 9 of these not found in Australia. Eucalyptus oil is made by steam distillation of the leaves from the tree and has a variety of uses. Its antiseptic, antibacterial, antimicrobial, decongestant, and natural insect repellent properties mean it lends itself to use in a wide variety of products, for instance, deodorants, toothpastes, cough sweets and mosquito repellents.
All soaps in the range are certified organic by the Soil Association and those lovely people at Ecosoapia donate 10% of all their profits to Iracambi, a not for profit that helps to conserve the rainforest. Also available in the range are Peppermint, Lavender, Almond, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Rose and Unscented. All are free from SLS, artificial colours, fragrances, synthetic preservatives and parabens, as well as being vegetarian and vegan-friendly. On top of all of this Ecosoapia are listed as an Ethical Company in the Good Shopping Guide, have the leaping bunny sign from the BUAV, and have an Allergy Consumer Award!
And it would seem I am in good company in liking these soaps, with several celebrities also raving about the soap! Donna Air says “I love the new Ecosoapia range of organic soaps – they’re totally organic, look gorgeous, not full of nasties, so not only perfect for me but all the little ones too, as it is not only safe for them to use but it is kind to the environment” and other A-listers who are fans include Meg Matthews and Patsy Palmer.
