A couple of months ago now I went to a Bloggers Tea Party, organised by Nadja from TMSB and Olivia from Beauty from the Fjord. Thanks so much for inviting me ladies, because I had an absolutely fabulous time! The event was held at Drink, Shop & Do, which is situated at the bottom of Caledonian Road, just a hop, skip & a jump from Kings Cross.
It was lovely to meet some new bloggers and just to have a general girlie time hanging out and chatting about life, beauty and blogging. I was sat with three lovely ladies; Angelica from One Little Vice, Nicola from Lippy in London, and Nicole from NHYC. Drink, Shop & Do missed out a very important activity that you can also do in their premises – EAT CAKE! And I’m not talking about any old cake, their selection was rather impressive. I plumped for a salted caramel and chocolate creation, it was absolutely delicious.
And of course, this kind of cake would be incomplete without a coffee of some description to wash it down with. When I am eating more traditional British cakes, it’s tea all the way, but here I opted for a flat white. The coffee was almost as impressive as the cake!
I noticed the pattern in the foam of my flat white…. is it me or can you see something a little saucy?! Here is a closer look.
Ooh eerrrrr missus!
I didn’t take as many photos as I might have done, truth be told I was rather exhausted from working at The Great Seed Festival all weekend (write up coming soon – it was so much fun!), so once I sat down I just enjoyed the banter with the ladies on my table and really chilled out. Nadja and Olivia did a fabulous job of organising the event; there were giveaways, speeches, photo opps galore, and just a genuinely friendly crowd. I’ve been to some other beauty blogger events where the girls have not been quite so warm and welcoming but here it was all smiles and enthusiasm. Nadja and Olivia also succeeded in putting together a stuffed full goodie bag! My favourite things in my bag include –
I also got a sample moisturiser to try from M3 skincare, which I look forward to trying soon!
To conclude, I had a great time at the meetup, and it made me realise how important it is to see friends face to face. We spend so much time on computers, interacting with people through our keyboards that we sometimes feel disconnected from the real life. My new year’s resolution should be to see friends both old and new more often and make the effort to organise more things!
