September in Paris has become something of a ritual for me. I’ve been lucky enough to have been asked to judge at the Beyond Beauty Paris show for several years in a row. I’m always so happy to go back to Paris, I never tire of the city. Some friends, and Mr BB, always comment “it’s just like London with lots of French people in it”, and I guess that’s why it holds such charm for me.
After judging the awards this year I had a couple of days spare, and with no Mr BB in tow for the first time in a while it meant I could spend the days just as I wanted. This involved checking out the top beauty shopping destinations in the city, including Oh My Cream! and Mme. Bio, lots and lots of walking, a trip inside Le Louvre, catching up with my friend Valentine, and a spa visit to Deep Nature Paris.
On the last day of my trip I booked in for a massage, and boy was I ready for it. After four days of stomping around the city by legs were tired and ready for some TLC before heading back to London. The massage was absolutely blissful, another episode where I fall asleep in my treatment! So relaxed was I that I don’t have all that much recollection of the treatment, I just remember my legs feeling considerably lighter after the healing hands of the therapist had worked their wonder on me.
The treatment room was very zen. Everything was perfectly presented and the art on the walls was very tasteful. Upon entering, one feels instantly calm and tranquil, ready to unwind even more.
Part of the reason I’d walked so far was the previous evening I stomped all along Les Champs Elysees, looking for a swimsuit/bikini/psuedo bikini knickers that I could wear in the shared facilities post treatment. As September is completely out of season there was no swimsuit or bikini to be found anywhere, so I settled on some knickers courtesy of H&M which I teamed with a black singlet. Had anyone else been sharing the facilities with me, no one would have ever known! But I was blessed with the whole place to myself, I suppose a late morning to early afternoon slot on a weekday is not prime time, and I was also treated to a session in their private steam room and area, which was pure bliss!
The “shared” sauna and shower facilities I had to myself.
My own private steam room, pre-steam!
The facilities were top notch, decked out to a high spec and with some expected and not so expected extras that make your spa trip that extra bit special – private steam room (hello!), herbal teas and fruits, lovely hospitable staff and all contained within the majestic grandeur of the Hotel Intercontinental Paris Le Grand. Having passed through the dining rooms to access the spa, I wished I’d allowed more time to experience a meal in the hotel, or at least an afternoon tea! Next time. All these positives are the reason I chose Deep Nature Paris to be my Biteable Best of Beauty Best Spa Facilities and Best Spa Experience.
Huge thanks to Anais and the team at Deep Nature Paris for making my experience at the spa so highly pleasurable, and giving my legs a much needed pampering!
