Sore Throat & Cough Natural Remedy Recipe Ingredients
- 2 Tbs apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tbs manuka Honey
- 1 Tbs water
- 1 Tbs lemon juice
- 2 Tbs coconut oil (warm slightly before adding if solid)
- ¼ t ground ginger or 1.2 t grated fresh ginger
- ¼ t cayenne pepper (may be left out for young children)
- 4 Capsules Bee Prepared immune support daily defence- open capsules & add powder
Sore Throat & Cough Natural Remedy Recipe Method
Combine all ingredients except capsule contents in a small saucepan over a very low heat briefly, just until runny. Remove from heat, add Bee Prepared capsules contents, stir well & pour into a jar or bottle. Shake well & store in fridge. Shake well again before serving.
May be lightly warmed before taking, as coconut oil may cause cough mixture harden. Not suitable for those under 2 years as honey is not recommended for young children. 1-2 tsps per serving. May also be added to warm water for a soothing hot drink.

Apple cider vinegar helps neutralise the body which turns alkaline when sick and helps to thin the mucus.
Honey is anti-a lot of things – antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiviral.
Lemon juice is also antibacterial and antiviral, loaded with vitamin C and thought to help reduce phlegm
The lauric acid in coconut oil in antibacterial, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory. Studies have shown that coconut oil can bolster a weakened immune system by raising white blood cell count
Ginger is soothing for scratchy throats and coughs and anti-inflammatory
Cayenne pepper helps warm the body, stimulates the release of mucous build up in the sinus and respiratory passages whilst making you sweat, lowering a fever and helping eliminate toxins.
