Try Me, Beautiful! Murad Vitalic Pomegranate Exfoliating Mask

Murad-Pomegranate-Exfoliating-Mask

This is the first Murad product I have tried. I’ve not heard much about the range and I don’t think they are 100% natural, but I was looking for a face mask to try from my large selection of sachets and thought I would give it a go! Something I can’t stand on sachets is when the ingredients are not listed, as is the case with this one. Yes, I could have checked online but not somewhere on a boat in the middle of the Arctic Circle! In general, I believe it’s more helpful if consumers are able to read there and then if there are ingredients they are allergic to, or ones they particularly like etc.

But back to the matter at hand, this mask has quite a thin consistency, it seeped out of the sachet as I teared it, but I managed to save my bedspread from the liquid with my hand! I applied a thin layer and immediately noticed the “fragranced” smell of the product, it’s not an unpleasant aroma just one that’s noticeably synthetic to the trained nose. Along with the textbook parfum scent there are vague pomegranate/fruity notes.

A few minutes application I noticed a tingly sensation (a bit like using Dr Bronner Peppermint Liquid Soap down there!) and was a little concerned that the exfoliating action was a little too powerful for my skin. Nevertheless I kept the mask on for the full 10-15 minutes recommended to see the product take its full effect. The mask absorbed into the skin for the most part, leaving just a fine layer of film to be rinsed away with warm water. The product was not the easiest to rinse away over the sink, I would prefer to use this product before taking a shower and be able to use the water flow to remove the product.

My skin was noticeably smoother to touch and I thought I could detect more of a radiant glow, however it’s difficult to tell in a cabin with florescent lighting and beige walls! For those curious about the ingredients, as I was, here is the list –

Water (Aqua), Sorbitol, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Squalane, Bromelain, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Lactic Acid, Cimicifuga Racemosa Root Extract, Punica Granatum Extract, Sodium PCA, Menthoxypropanediol, Punica Granatum Seed Oil, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Zinc Gluconate, Tocopheryl Acetate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 60, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Benzyl Salicylate, Fragrance (Parfum)

As I suspected, there are sadly some unsavoury characters on this list, so for me this is not going to be a repurchase.
