Organic September Day 1: Pai Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator
Organic September: Pai Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator
All Pai Skincare products are certified organic by the Soil Association. In case you’re wondering what this means, the standard set by the Soil Association is that at least 70% of a beauty product’s non-water ingredients must be organically grown and harvested. As well as this the ingredients must be sustainable, not use pesticides (of course), any extracts extracted without chemical solvents, all non-organic ingredients must have a non-GM certificate and pass strict toxicity and biodegradability criteria, must not contain any nanoparticles or irritating or potentially toxic chemicals, and manufacturers must pass an annual inspection and keep detailed production records.
“What a great way to kick off Organic September! I do love a bit of Pai! Their products are always a marvel to me, designed for sensitive skin but with such a luxury feel to them. Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator is part of the Special Effects range, “formulated to suit all skin prone to irritation”. I like the feeling of the jojoba beads against my skin, you can feel the exfoliation happening but not in a harsh way. I like the fragrance too; may chang, frankincense a citrus blend together in a very balanced way. My one complaint would be the product is a bit sticky when going on to the skin, I prefer a slightly creamier texture. The product does wash away easily though; thanks to the sucrose laurate it contains it emulsifies and turns into a cream on contact with water.”
“I’m so excited to be involved in this Organic September blog series. Reading the instructions for this Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator I was surprised that this product had to be applied to and massaged into dry skin first. Doing this, my face felt a bit tingly, but it was a nice tingly feeling. I think it was just my skin actively opening up to the product. After that first massage you have to wet your fingers and that’s when the exfoliator becomes more milky and foamy, making a very soft scrub.
I really like this exfoliator because it’s actually quite fun to use. The slight burning sensation when applying it to dry skin and then the soft, moisturising feeling really makes you feel like you’re properly cleansing your face. After rinsing it off with warm water my skin felt rejuvenated and so clean. I didn’t use any foundation or concealer that day because I didn’t want to ruin my healthy glow.”
“I absolutely love this Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Exfoliator. The product resembles a thick honey-like texture, which I think is fantastic because it actually feels as if I’m rubbing natural honey onto my face. It’s almost a gel rather than a cream, but not sticky at all. There’s no significant strong smelling fragrance which is always a plus, and I saw instant results after washing this scrub off. My skin was silky smooth, bright, dewy and there was absolutely no irritation. I think this is one of the softest scrubs I’ve ever used on my face too. Definitely worth buying and trying!”
Happy Organic September everyone!
