Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm from the Radiant Skin Collection

By  |  1 Comment

This was the first product I tried from the Balance Me Radiant Skin Collection – the Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm. I actually took this pack away with my to Luxor, Egypt when I went there for a much deserved holiday in September. I think the fact I trialled this product so long ago and I am only just writing this feature is testament to just how busy I have been these past few months! Posting every 2-3 days as I used to is nigh on impossible unless I want to drop the quality of my writing. I’m currently posting every 10 days to 2 weeks! Now that Natural Products 2013 is over I’m hoping to find a bit more time to focus to the blog, but let’s see!

Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm - Radiant Skin Collection

What of Face Balms?

More and more face balms are popping up on the market, from mainstream brands like Clinique to long-standing Eve Lom to more natural offerings such as Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm and Balm Balm, read my review here of their face balm. Many people are quite unsure about applying products containing so many oils and butters to their face particularly if they themselves have oily or combination skin. However, face balms are suitable for all skin types as oils are much more effective at addressing oil imbalances in the skin – oils can dissolve grease and impurities so that they are rinsed away with them. The oils and butters also have nourishing properties for dry and sensitive skin types, all-in-all they are a super all-rounder!

What’s in Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm?

There’s a bounty of wonderfully beautifying ingredients in this product -

  • Sweet Almond Oil; smoothes fine lines and wrinkles, and an excellent ingredient for hydrating dry skin and calming blemishes and breakouts
  • Oatmeal; gentle cleansing and exfoliating properties as well as anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing and naturally moisturising
  • Cera alba – unrefined Beeswax – an excellent emollient with smoothing and softening properties
  • Mango Seed Butter – rich in essential fatty acids,  beta carotene, Vitamin A and E
  • Shea Butter – super deep moisturising, healing and regenerating properties
  • Cocoa Butter – soothing and smoothing, addresses any scarring and also has antimicrobial properties

And the list goes on – it’s great to see so many skin-loving oils and butters packed in to one product! One more I thought I’d mention is Cloudberry Seed Extract, as this is not all that commonly seen in beauty ingredients lists. Cloudberry Seed Extract is grown at latitudes close to the Arctic and has great efficacy when it comes to anti-ageing. It’s anti-wrinkle, anti-inflammatory, and has antioxidant and soothing properties as well as UV filters.

Biteable’s Verdict – Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm

I loved this product! Being in Egypt it was just what my skin needed. After spending the days either lounging by the pool or gallivanting around on a horse and carriage, this balm was effective at cleansing the sweat, oil and impurities from my face at the end of each day, whilst also keeping skin hydrated. Although I’m trying to exactly recall the scent of this product, I do remember the Cera Alba (Beeswax!) being a prominent fragrance, and my nose could definitely pick out the Petitgrain’s citrus notes. I tend to have combination skin and found this products a real treat for both areas my skin!
